Government Postgraduate College Bisalpur Pilibhit is a coeducational institute, which was established by the Uttar Pradesh Higher Education department, to impart higher education with minimum fee structure, predominantly to those young boys and girls who aspire for higher education but cannot afford due to their weak economic and social background.
The College was established in the year 1976, since then the Government Postgraduate College has been constantly growing in size and structure. Initially started with arts faculty, which had six departments, grew with opening of bachelors programme in science, subsequently followed by the postgraduate programmes in art with six subjects. There are undergraduate programmes running in all the faculties with six disciplines in arts (Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Economics, History, Political science, five disciplines in science, and six economics have postgraduate programme.
Our SWOC (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities, Challenges)
Strength: The College caters the need of approximately 2000 students. It is ensured by the college authority to implement pedagogic methods effectively, in order to meet the level of understanding of students, who are from diverse educational background. The strength of the college lies in its faculty. The college has well qualified faculty, who are constantly engaged in academic pursuit and simultaneously endeavor to upgrade the students with latest information and knowledge in the discipline. The college motivates its student to participate in various extracurricular activities for all round development. There are ICT enabled classrooms, and NRC, by which students are, introduced to latest technology of classroom teaching and internet facilities.
Weakness: If the organization has strength, it has some fault lines too. The College has insufficient infrastructure, which many times hampers effective deliverance of basic amenities to the students as well as staff members. There is scarcity of funds, which is another hindrance in the growth and development of college.
Opportunities: The college provides opportunity of academic enhancement to its staff and students. The students get exposure to various aides of learning through the faculty. They are also guided and counselled by the career counselling and placement cell, so that students can explore future placement opportunity. The faculty and office staff are encouraged and motivated to attend professional development course and are guided time to time for their career advancement opportunity.
Challenges: The College has a mission to provide higher education, to those who are predominantly from rural background; simultaneously it is a challenge to disseminate knowledge and information which is based on ICT learning. To raise the infrastructural standards of institution in meager resources is a biggest challenge.
